My story
Twenty years of technology in a few lines: from my first websites to the solutions that connect a company with its suppliers, by way of live television outside broadcasts.
1999 – 2006
The beginning
It all starts at the Aldo Capitini technical institute in Agliana, where I qualify in business administration and programming: economics and computing, two worlds I have never kept apart since.
From 2003 I build dynamic websites for companies. It is my first contact with real clients: understanding what a business needs and turning it into something that works online.
2007 – 2012
A business of my own
In 2007 I found Promotecs in Quarrata. We develop websites, run e-commerce sites and eBay stores, provide hosting and dedicated servers, both managed and unmanaged, and look after companies' Facebook campaigns.
Running a business teaches me to see the work from every angle: the technology, of course, but also the people, the deadlines and the responsibility towards those who rely on you.
Since 2013
Connecting a company with its suppliers
In 2013 I join Skynet Technology and start working as a consultant for the Information Systems department of Salvatore Ferragamo. My job is to design and develop the solutions that connect the company with its supplier network and support production.
Behind every product there is a chain of information: production orders to send, progress to track, suppliers to qualify, quality checks to record. Where suppliers have their own management systems I integrate our tools with them; where they do not, I provide the solutions to them directly.
I always start from process analysis, together with the production and supply chain teams, and follow each project through to release as the point of contact between production, suppliers and IT.
Since 2018
Behind the scenes of live TV
Alongside this, I am technical manager of mobile TV production units for live broadcasts and streaming. I coordinate the technical crew from set-up to on-air, where there is no margin for error and problems have to be solved in real time.
Live coverage of cycling races is the toughest test: the signal leaves the moving race, travels over cellular networks thanks to bonding systems and reaches the broadcasters via uplink, or whichever solution best suits each event.
Today
What I bring with me
This path has given me an all-round view, from working with people to the most technical side. Live broadcasting has taught me to work calmly and reliably under pressure; systems integration, to bring order to processes and make them talk to each other.
